SOFA 2010, Arad, Romania
A round table discussion, "e-Skills - a challenge for the beginning of the 21st century"
was held on 16th July in Arad, Romania
as part of the 4th International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications (SOFA 2010).
The interesting discussion was moderated by Prof. Vasile Baltac, President of CEPIS and ATIC Romania.

Lifetime achievement award to Gyozo Kovacs at Computer Science Museum in Hungary

On July 16, 2010 Prof. Vasile Baltac, paid a visit to the Computer Science Museum in Szeged, the location of a unique collection of computers and telecom equipment.
The idea of collecting and preserving old items was thought of by Dr. H.C. Gyozo Kovacs, a well known Hungarian computer pioneer.
This was supported by the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) and the Hungarian Museum for National Science and Technology (OMM).
Over 10,000 pieces of old equipment, weighing more than 300 tonnes, and tens of thousands of pages of technical documents were brought to Szeged.

A lifetime achievement award (foto) was presented to Gyozo Kovacs by Dr. Vasile Baltac.
